Surrey Tango Teaching PhilosophyThrough attendance at various courses and workshops we have met good - and bad - teachers. Our approach is firstly, to allow students to appreciate the basis of tango movement, and secondly to be aware of how the technical moves develop. In that way people can develop their own style because, of course, everyone is different. We have no interest in trying to impose our style on another.Often an individual's style can originates from certain physical qualities. For instance, being extremely supple may encourage a dancer to pursue a style that demonstrates this characteristic. Similarly, having a highly developed 'musical ear' might allow a dancer to decorate their dance with fine footwork.
Our role is to ensure that we acknowledge the various dancing styles and abilities. that we give.
Ultimately we want our students to have the confidence of attending milongas and have a wonderful time. All participants are covered by the University liability insurance.
